There are many things out there that taste so good, however they are high in a lot of the things that our bodies just don’t need to become healthier. We are going to review an alternative to one of these foods.
Mashed Potatoes taste so good. They practically melt in your mouth when you taste them. Mashed potatoes are made with a high starch food, which can cause you a great rush of energy followed by a crash. Eating them can also cause some weight gain because of the type of carbohydrate that they are. Add some gravy on top of Mashed Potatoes and you are adding more high starch calories, along with the bad kind of fat. When you are losing weight you really want to consider a way to not eat these mashed potatoes, or limit them down to a small quantity.
There is a healthier alternative to Mashed Potatoes, and it is Mashed Cauliflower. Cauliflower has a very distinct taste to it, and eaten without mashing them you are guaranteed to experience the taste. Cauliflower is very high in fiber and is a lower starch content food. All you have to do is buy some cauliflower florets, boil some water and steam them up until they are soft. Once they are soft place a little bit of non-fat milk in there and just a touch of butter. Then add in some garlic if you like the taste of garlic. Another thing that you can add in is Parmesan cheese. Blend it all together and there you have it: Mashed Cauliflower ready to eat. When you eat your meal all you have to do is add a protein source like chicken. Combining these two will make for a meal that is good for you and tastes good. Don’t forget to add a pinch of salt and some pepper to the Mashed Cauliflower.
